Main Street Branch Library will be temporarily closed June 8–15 for facility improvement work, including installation of a new public service desk and exterior paving maintenance.

All other HBPL locations will remain open during regular hours, and digital resources will continue to be available 24/7.

We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these improvements.

Main Street Branch Library
The Main Street Library is 75 years old! It first opened in 1951 and was the main library until 1975, when the Central Library was renovated. Today, it is a special historic place and has photos that show the story of Huntington Beach, like old buildings, leaders, and surfing. When you visit, try to find the grandfather clock and hear it chime!

Join us on the fourth Friday of every month for a fun LEGO building time. Each session will have a new and exciting challenge, plus plenty of free building time to let your imagination run wild!
The library will provide all the LEGO, and kids bring the creativity and big ideas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, or create using any other fiber art we welcome you to bring your current work in progress and join other crafters in a welcoming space.

All skill levels are welcome. Drop in anytime between 4pm and 6pm every second Thursday of the month.
