It started with a hand-written letter with no reply. Then a visit to City Hall followed by a 3 minute public comment, to a community stakeholder in this project. Any of us in the community that supports this and will respectfully utilize the playground, as well, as visitors is a vital input to this process. I am not a professional, I'm a mother, wife, resident of HB and fan of outside play. I beli

eve in the power of people working together for a better future. The proposed playground will be a Universal Accessible Playground, with MANY awesome features. As the progress unfolds I will keep you posted. Thank You.

Coastal & Park Cleanup Day is on September 19 at 9 am

It’s time to celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day and help make the planet a cleaner, happier place for humans, plants, and animals, and become part of the solution to ocean pollution. Please join us Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. for Beach and Park Cleanup! This is a day when we come together as a community on an international scale to clean our beaches, parks, and waterways.

Volunteer for Coastal Cleanup Day
Joining the cleanup is easy:
• Choose from the City Beach (21579 Pacific Coast Hwy) or Park (19822 Beach Blvd) locations.
• Bring reusable supplies that you will need: 3- or 5-gallon buckets, gloves (gardening or dishwashing gloves work well), a trash pick-up device, a water bottle, and don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes, a hat, and put on sunscreen.
• When possible, use public transportation, walk, bike, or carpool to the cleanup!
• A signed liability waiver is required for every volunteer
