Can the new city council fix this craziness?

HBPD:
‘Saturday, a large group of pocket bikes entered Huntington Beach, generating multiple calls for service regarding reckless driving.

When officers responded, most of the riders took off before officers could make contact. But not everyone got away.

Officers detained two juveniles driving pocket bikes, along with their mother, who knowingly allowed her kids to drive recklessly, knowing they could be seriously hurt or die. She was arrested for child endangerment.

Another man was taken into custody after falling from his pocket bike. He was arrested for reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

But we didn’t stop there; a juvenile arrived on a pocket bike while officers were conducting their investigation. The juvenile’s father had encouraged the reckless activity and was subsequently arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Two additional juvenile riders were cited and released.

The result: 3 arrests, multiple pocket bikes impounded, and a pretty clear message.
