Good afternoon, Town of Huntingdon. The Huntingdon Middle School (HMS) hosted The Amazing Shake Day. It is a dynamic and exciting live competition that rallies leaders and role models in a school's community to teach students about professional skills for success.
This program is part of HMS participation in the House Leadership System developed by the Ron Clark Academy.
This program places an emphasis on teaching students' manners, discipline, respect, and how to conduct themselves in a professional environment. This is the first annual program at HMS and puts the students to the test on these skills through a fun and memorable experience and enables them to engage with local business leaders on behalf of the school. The competition also introduces students to the networks, roles and opportunities, and career paths that they may not have been exposed to before.
During the Amazing Shake, students learn and develop professional qualities-from the mechanics of a proper handshake to how to "work the room"-so that they are able to present themselves exceptionally well for opportunities today and in the future.
A huge SHOUTOUT to our community leaders and all those that participated in the wonderful event!
