We had June's Advisory Board meeting yesterday, and it has been an exciting month! Our board has officially grown times three! 🎉 We started with a small but mighty group, and today, we are so incredibly thankful to welcome new leaders who share our passion for the Carl Perkins Center. More hands mean more impact for Benton and Carroll County! Growing our board by 3X means growing our community, our ideas, and our impact! 🌱 We are deeply thankful for our board members, experienced and new, who have stepped up to help guide our child advocacy center into this next chapter. Thank you for dedicating your time, talent, and energy to our mission. Let’s make a difference together! ✨

A special thank you to everyone in our community who supports our journey. 💙🤝 We are truly blessed!

It's Fri-yay! Let's talk about what we are working on!

Tennessee summer is hot! But don't worry! We've got you covered! We are going to have a BLUE SUEDE COOLER drink fundraiser starting July 1st! We are partnering with some local entrepreneurs to make you cooler! Please make sure to support them, and us, by asking for it by name! More information coming soon!

Also, we are looking to do a Mom's Night Out Paint Party in July but I need to know there is interest! Who wants to go? Let us know!

Lastly, we are working on a Back to School Backpack Bash! We need folks to help us provide school supplies for some of our families here at the Center! Comment LIST below and we will forward you more information. All supplies would need to be in the office before July 31st! If you want to Walmart.com or Amazon.com your order, or any food or hygiene products for the pantry, it can be sent to 50 Stone Ridge Cove, Huntingdon, TN 38344!

We appreciate the support we receive from our community! Help us spread the word by commenting, liking, and sharing our posts to friends and family! Tag anyone who you feel like may want to get involved! Then stay tuned for all the details of the fun things we will do in July!

Monday's Myth: A parent’s main worry should be to protect their children from strangers.

Fact: More than 90% of child abuse happens at the hands of someone the child knows.

It’s common for parents to teach their children not to talk to strangers, and it’s drilled into most children from an early age. Do you remember ‘Stranger Danger’? While we should stay vigilant about abductions, that’s not the whole story.

Abusers often form relationships with potential victims and their families before abuse, referred to as the grooming process. The process is intentional and works to gain the trust of the entire family. To prevent abuse and neglect, we must recognize that no child or family is immune to this threat.

We have added a new addition!

Check out our front foyer and help support the cause at the Carroll County Carl Perkins Center!

We were a little late on our spring cleaning 🧼 this year, but while we worked, we made fun discoveries! So many cute designs that let people know where you stand on the issue of child abuse! We have youth and adult sizes. $10 each. Have a question about a size or color? Call us at our office at 731-986-5920 or dm us for more details!

We also want to thank Madison Utley at Madi & Co. for lending us this cute rack! Madison is a Huntingdon business owner and a member of our board! We appreciate her so much! 👏 Make sure you go by and show her some love! ❤️

Happy Thursday! We are thankful for a short week but also thankful for you!!!

We are thankful for our supporters, our community, and our wonderful staff! But, here is a reminder- we do not accept clothing or home goods items. We simply do not have the room. If you are looking for a place to donate useable clothing and household items, we recommend United Neighbors in McKenzie, Beating Hearts Help Center in McKenzie, and Big Sandy Christian Community Outreach Center in Big Sandy, just to name a few!

Thank you all for the generosity you show us every day! We are so happy we get to share the love!
