Carroll County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse The Carroll County Carl Perkins Center serves Carroll, Henry and Benton Counties in preventing and dealing with child abuse.

The center provides 24 Hour Hot Line Services, Child Advocacy Center Services, Community Education, Forensic Interview Services, Forever Parents, Kids on the Block, Nurturing Parenting, Stewards of Children, and much more. We do this through child education, parenting classes, community outreach and awareness, Relative Care Provider programs, Superfriend programs and a food/hygiene product pantry.

It's Friday! YAY! Friday around this office is cleaning day!

While dealing with children and families, we strive to create a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere for them. A place that they can relax, a place they appreciate and enjoy coming to. That means a lot of soft surfaces. Overstuffed chairs, pillows, and rugs. We all know that soft surfaces with continued use needs care.

So we are calling on our Facebook community again. We have several pieces of furniture and area rugs that really need deep cleaning. We are looking for someone to help us make that happen, either at a deeply discounted cost or as a tax deductible donation to the Center.

It is THANKFUL THURSDAY! We have so much to be thankful for here at the Center! We want to give a shout out to Monica Hill, Manager of our local Wal-Mart, for giving us this $100 gift card for a drawing at the Big Top 5K Glow Run. Carroll County businesses helping out, big and small! Be sure to stop by the registration desk when you arrive on Saturday evening to get your ticket and check out all of the other fun things we have going on.

While we are talking about Wal-Mart, we also want to say thank you to Amanda Holland for her Wal-Mart delivery! Her contribution was stocked in our food pantry and hygiene closet to help members of our Carroll County community.

We are still in need of many of the items on our shopping list from September 1st. If you would like to send us a delivery, we are here 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our office delivery address 50 Stone Ridge Cove, Huntingdon, TN 38344.

We are blessed to belong here and grateful for all of our Carl Perkins' friends!

Our annual Labor Day Boston Butt Sale was a hit! We sold 56 butts on Friday! Thank you to Chase Sanders, Natalie Porter, Pam and Lee Bergeron, Brian Kelly, and Ricky Price for their help in pulling all of this off! Also thank you to Huntingdon Church of Christ for allowing us the use of your campus! Big thanks to the Huntingdon Cash Saver, and especially Jim, for coming in early and getting us a great deal on the meat, as well as Tim and Natalie Jordan with Modern Woodmen of the World for their sponsorship of this event. Finally, much appreciation to Scottie Dawson, Tommy Loyd, and Save-A-Lot Food Distribution Warehouse in Humboldt for their generous donations! To all of the friends of the Carroll County Carl Perkins Center that bought meat, liked our posts, and shared the event, we say thank you!!! We will do it again next year! Mark those calenders NOW! The grills are smoking and the meat is sizzling! If you placed an order for a butt, be at the Huntingdon Church of Christ at 18900 West Main Street between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to pick it up! We did order a few extra if you didn't get your order in, but it is first come first serve and when they are gone, they are gone! Happy Friday, everyone!!!

This pie chart represents the number of followers we have on our profile and where they call home. That red part is the part that made us scratch our head. We have more followers from Benton, Gibson, Henry, and Madison County than we have in all of Carroll?! Really eye opening.

So for the month of September, we issue a challenge! On October 1st, we would love to see way less red! And let's get a good showing for Mckenzie! Here is it hoping you guys can catch up to Huntingdon!!! The race is on! Who will finish first???

It's another Thankful Thursday and we are blessed to be able to provide a food pantry for our community here at the Carl Perkins Center! These two little seasoning packets mean a lot to a struggling family!

September means it won't be long and it will be soup weather!!!

There is nothing like coming home to a crock-pot of slow simmered, hot and hearty soup! It's comfort food at it's finest. It's an easy meal, cheap to make, and so filling!

Here's the question- are you team taco soup or team chili???

Give us your favorite! And what do you like with it? Some cornbread maybe, or corn chips? Loaded with cheese or sour cream? Let's all get ready for FALL, y'all!
