At the Huntingdon County Sheriff’s Office, We know community outreach and education has never been more important than it is right now. We operate with the highest degree of honesty, professionalism, and integrity in all that we do -- with each other, with our community, and with our fellow law enforcement agencies.

Bob BecKer with LAW Publications will be in our community for the next couple of weeks going from business to business to get sponsorships for our community safety program.

This program gets awareness information and material into the hands of school aged children and senior citizens to warn them of many different risks and dangers involved with drugs and also keep them informed on various other important safety topics.

Thank you for your support!

This weekend, our office gathered to celebrate our newest graduate, as well as another successful fair week and lake patrol season for the agency.

Working in law enforcement can be a stressful environment. Events like this allow us to decompress and reflect upon the important work each deputy does, while also bringing our families together to socialize and strengthen the bonds we share.

Being a deputy with the Huntingdon County Sheriff’s Office is more than a job. It’s a family, and one committed to serving the fine citizens of Huntingdon County.

New Deputy Graduate

The Huntingdon County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the graduation of Deputy Mark Hesketh! Deputy Hesketh has successfully completed the 19 weeks of training required to become certified as a Deputy Sheriff in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Completing the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Training Academy is no easy task. The academy is physically and mentally demanding, and much of that time is spent away from home, family, and friends. And the best part? Deputy Hesketh did it all at 54!

Deputy Hesketh’s commitment and determination to successfully complete the academy are a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication to serving our community. We have no doubt that he will serve the citizens of Huntingdon County well.

Congratulations, Deputy Hesketh, on a job well done! We are proud to have you as part of the HCSO family!

Continuing Our Tradition

This past week, the Huntingdon County Sheriff’s Office had the privilege of providing law enforcement coverage for the Huntingdon County Fair. For many years, our office has proudly provided this service, helping ensure the fair remains a safe and enjoyable event for everyone in attendance.

Throughout the week, our deputies responded to and handled multiple incidents, highlighting the importance of the work performed by Sheriff Leonard and the members of the Huntingdon County Sheriff’s Office each year.

We are proud to continue this longstanding tradition and to play a role in keeping our community safe while celebrating one of Huntingdon County’s cherished annual events.

🚂 REMINDER: BIG BOY STEAM TRAIN EVENT 🚂

The excitement is building as the Big Boy Steam Train makes its way through Huntingdon Borough!

For everyone's safety, please remember:

• Stay OFF all railroad tracks and areas along the tracks at all times.
• View the train only from designated public viewing areas.
• Obey all instructions from Police Officers, Fire Police, Norfolk Southern personnel, and event staff.
• Never cross the railroad tracks once warning devices are activated or while the train is approaching or passing.
• Keep children close and supervise them at all times.
• Be aware of your surroundings and watch for emergency vehicles and traffic.
• Follow posted road closures and detour routes.
• Please be patient—traffic delays are expected before and after the train passes.

The Big Boy is much larger and quieter than many people expect. Trains can approach quickly and cannot stop suddenly. A safe viewing experience begins with staying a safe distance from the tracks.

Thank you for helping make this a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you in Huntingdon Borough!
