This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends today, let us take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

Join us on Monday on Monday May 25th, at 11am for our annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the HV Library, 625 Red Lion Road.

The ceremony honors fallen service members and includes commemorative tributes, remarks from local officials, and participation by the local scouts.

Light refreshments will be provided at the firehouse at the conclusion of the ceremony, 636 Red Lion Road.

Today, members of Huntingdon Valley Fire Company joined Trumbauersville Fire Company in honoring and remembering Ladies Auxiliary member Beryl Souders.

We are grateful for the time she devoted to Huntingdon Valley whether is was lending a hand at an event, or supporting our members, she enjoyed serving the community. Ladies Auxiliary served a vital role to the members of HVFC back in the day.

When she and Chaplain Souders moved out of the area, they joined Trumbauersville Fire Company and continued to devote themselves to helping others.

The Lower Moreland Twp commissioners honored life member firefighter Emil Dix for his 70 years of continuous service as a member of HVFC. Emil is 91 years young and currently serves as our company secretary. He has been a fire fighter and fire officer until ending his active firefighting in 2005. You will see his story in Fox 29 News tonight at 10 pm, and Channel 3 News at 11 pm tonight as both stations came to cover this presentation. We thank the LM commissioners for taking the time to honor him tonight on this incredible milestone as a volunteer professional firefighter.

HVFC as Fetters Mill Fire Rescue was dispatched for a vehicle accident rescue on Terwood Road at 8:33 this morning. An SUV crashed and was on its side requiring crews to stabilize the vehicle and assist the driver to get out. We want to thank Upper Moreland Fire Department for their mutual aid assistance. Units on scene were Squad 19, Squad 19-1, Quint 35, Medic 319, Lower Moreland and Upper Moreland PD, and HV and BA Fire Police.
