We are proud to announce that Grand Oak Elementary has made historic gains this year based on the state of NC Report Card data. Today we found out that Grand Oak was ranked an A school for the 4th year in a row (8th time in 11 years) and we continue to improve student proficiency. Our school also exceeded our growth expectations for the 2nd year in a row. Our growth was the largest growth score in Grand Oak history and our students had the highest ranked growth for an elementary school in CMS in 2025-2026. This accomplishment reflects the hard work of our students, staff, families, and community. We should all be proud of our school community!

The accomplishments don't stop there though! Here are some other highlights that our teachers should be celebrated for:

- #1 growth score among all elementary schools in CMS
-93rd highest growth score out of 2,583 schools across North Carolina (including HS, MS and ES)
-14th highest elementary school growth score in the state
-54th highest math proficiency in North Carolina (grades 3-8)
-21st highest reading proficiency in North Carolina (grades 3-8)
-99th highest science proficiency in North Carolina (grades 3-8)
-125th highest GLP/CCR score out of 2,670 total schools in North Carolina

Now we focus on our momentum from last year and strive to get 1% better every day to exceed this data in 2026-2027!

Morning Shopping Events (Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday,September 16)

Families may shop with their students during these two mornings from 7:30am - 8:00am. We ask that families with last names starting with A-M shop on 9/15 and families with last names starting with N-Z shop on 9/16. This will help provide a comfortable shopping experience for all. Students must have a parent with them to shop during this time. *This event will require a sign up as we will need to follow CMS guidelines for safety procedures.

On behalf of the Hopewell Athletic Booster Club, we would like to invite our feeder school families to the Annual Rising Titan Night on Friday September 4th.
All students who wear their feeder school shirt will be admitted to our Football game for Free. Students must be accompanied by a paying adult.

UPDATE: Kick off against Statesville High School is at 7:30pm, gates open at 6:30pm.
