Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is excited to build our new 45-classroom elementary school at 200 Gilead Rd. as part of the 2023 Bond Construction Referendum! The new facility is expected to open in August 2028.

We invite you to join us for an in-person Bond Project Update Meeting:

Date: Thursday, September 17, 2026

Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: Huntersville Elementary Cafeteria

During the meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet with design professionals and learn more about the project plans. Spanish interpreters will be available on-site. If you cannot attend, the session will be recorded and posted on the CMS Bond Info YouTube Channel.

Thank you to everyone that came out for HES Beautification day!!
It would not of been possible without the contributions by John Burak and his team at MajestiK Home & Lawn. Mulch spread, weeds pulled, painting, and lots of sweat poured into this campus. Go BULLDOGS!!!!

We kicked off the 2026-2027 school year by celebrating our incredible HES teachers and staff with a special Back-to-School Luncheon hosted by the PTA Teacher Appreciation Committee!

A huge thank you to Fresh Chef for providing a delicious lunch for staff to enjoy as they prepare for the first week of school.

At HES, it takes the whole team—teachers, staff, families, and our community—working together to make it a winning year for our students. We are so thankful for these amazing educators who show up every day ready to give it their all. 💙
