Our club adopted a stream that runs through the Vermillion neighborhood in Huntersville. Last month, we had a team of volunteers cleaning the waterway. And, we also volunteered Bridge of Hearts - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100094461699774 - to create birthday bags for school children in the Lake Norman Community.

If you want to be part of making positive change in the Lake Norman community, then stop by for breakfast at Northstone Country Club at 7:30 AM on the first, second and third Thursday of each month.

Dan Boone, Shannon Yunn, and Butch DeStefano proudly presented a check for $4600 to Sarah Fortner and the staff of Caterpillar Ministries in Huntersville, the beneficiary of Butchapalooza X, which took place on February 21. The event was a resounding success, featuring visits to Old Armor, Cabarrus, and Southern Strain Breweries in Cabarrus County. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Lake Norman Huntersville Rotary, sponsors, friends, and all participants. Caterpillar Ministries offers a range of essential services in a low-income and formerly high-crime neighborhood in Huntersville.

BUTCHAPOOLZA 10 - The End! was a success this weekend. Club members and their friends climbed onto a tour bus to visit local breweries to raise money for Catepillar Ministries, one of the most impressive organizations in Mecklenburg county. They focus their energies on the Huntington Green neighborhood, where they have helped make the community safer, increased economic opportunity and increased high school graduation rates, based on a foundation of faith.
We visited and want to thank the following breweries for their support:

The https://lakenormanrotary.org/ joined with the other Lake Norman clubs for a multi-club social at https://www.theservepickleball.com/ in Cornelius. It is such a great venue for a large gathering where 50+ Rotarians could meet and re-connect with old friends, discuss successes from the previous year and make new plans for the upcoming year. See some of our pics from the event below.

This Thursday, Feb-19, our club meets at Northstone Country Club at 7:30 AM to hear from Denis Bilodeau, the newly elected Mayor of Cornelius. Please come and join us to hear Denis's "State of Cornelius" presentation.

George Solomon brought Rob Raylman and Arnie Quaranta, leaders from Gift of Life International ( https://giftoflifeinternational.org/ ), to our club meeting via Zoom. They informed us about the strong partnership between Gift of Life and Rotary and how a new, innovative strategy was created in 2009 to develop sustainable programs. This changed the scope of impact from one child at a time to many children ... so much so that now 5,000+ children have life-saving heart surgery ... per year.

Our club, and many other clubs from Rotary district 7680, will be hosting a fundraiser for GOLI at Northstone Country Club on April 9th at 6:00 PM. Please go to https://lakenormanrotary.org/index.php for more information.
