St. Mary's of the Mountain Hunter, NY St.

Mary's was built in the 1830's overlooking what is now Hunter, NY to provide a place of worship for the Irish and German immigrants who came to the Catskills to work in the tanning industry. Mary's, believed to be the oldest Roman Catholic Church in the Catskills, is listed on the National and State Historic Registers and is now in need of immediate structural repairs.
