We haven't exactly been the best at posting on our page lately. As a rural volunteer fire department, you can go through times when the call volume is low, and you can go through times when they keep you busy.

The last several weeks have been busier for us with a structure fire call, medicals, mutual aid responses, and more!

I'd like to just take a moment and say thank you to all that have helped us with these calls! We couldn't do it without y'all!

And thank you to the citizens of Garfield County that helped us pass that last tax vote for the rural fire departments! It's because of that tax that we are able to have such a tremendous response system in rural Garfield County!

What a beautiful memorial that was held today for our fallen brother and friend.

Thank you to the Enid Police Department, Enid Fire Department - Enid, OK, Kremlin Fire & Rescue, and all other departments from Garfield County and even around the state that helped make today's service so special!

Lee, may you rest easy and we'll take it from here!

Tomorrow, we will welcome home our brother and friend #963 Sgt. Lee Frisendahl.

An es**rt of Enid Police Department Honor Guard, along with members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Garfield County Sheriff's Office, Hunter Fire Department, Kremlin Fire Department and Mercy Ambulance Service will travel along Garriott from Oklahoma City, enroute to Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Please join us at the Enid Police Department and along Garriott to honor him and his homecoming.

We expect the procession to pass the station about 11:15 a.m.

Today, we raise the Memorial Flag, at the Fallen and Living Firefighters Memorial, in honor of Volunteer Firefighter Lee E. Frisendahl of the Hunter Volunteer Fire Department.

Lee dedicated his life to serving others, giving 22 years of service to the fire department and 19 years of service to the Enid Police Department. His commitment to protecting and serving his community leaves a lasting legacy and will not be forgotten.

We ask that you join us in keeping Lee’s family, fellow firefighters, law enforcement family, and all who loved and knew him in your thoughts as they grieve this tragic loss.

The dry line pushed through our area late yesterday afternoon! We can expect some much dryer air today that will raise our fire danger! Tomorrow's fire danger actually looks higher for us as of right now.

Red Flag Warning in effect for today but expect it to be extended through Tomorrow!

I'm sure we don't need to tell you about the Winter Storm Warning with everyone talking about it all week. However, we do have an EXTREME COLD WARNING now for this weekend.

If you look at the NWS's slides, it appears our wind chill factor will fall below zero Friday night or early Saturday morning and stay there until Sunday.
