Important message :

We spoke with Local WV DOH officials and they are advising that with the upcoming snowfall event that anyone on secondary roads that get vehicles stuck they will not be able to come and assist the wrecker in getting to the vehicles. They have to keep main roadways open and at this time have limited manpower. If you do get a vehicle stuck on a secondary roadway and the wrecker service is unable to get to the vehicle it may be awhile before the vehicle is able to be removed.
We ask that you contact our non-emergency line and let us know where the vehicle is and if it has the roadway blocked or not so we can let our emergency responders know in the event of an emergency, they may need to take a different route.

Hundred, West Virginia, is a small, charming town tucked away in the hills of Wetzel County, where history and community spirit run deep. With a population of just under three hundred residents, the town's name itself is as unique as its story. It was named after Henry "Old Hundred" Church, a local Revolutionary War veteran, and his wife, who both lived to be over 100 years old. Their longevity left a lasting legacy in this quiet Appalachian community.

Hundred is a quintessential small town, where life moves at a slower pace and neighbors greet each other with a wave. Surrounded by the rolling hills and lush greenery of northern West Virginia, the area offers scenic beauty that's perfect for those who love the outdoors.

The town has also become a point of pride for its unique and memorable name, often drawing the curiosity of visitors and road-trippers looking for off-the-beaten-path destinations. Hundred’s welcoming locals are always happy to share the town's history and a bit of small-town hospitality with anyone passing through.

In true Appalachian fashion, Hundred celebrates its heritage with community events and gatherings that bring people together. These traditions reflect the strength and resilience of its people—qualities shaped by the region's coal mining and farming history. While Hundred may not be bustling with activity, its quiet charm and rich history make it a special place in the Mountain State.

For those seeking a slice of authentic West Virginia life, Hundred is a small town with a big heart, where the past is remembered, and the present is enjoyed. It's a reminder that even the tiniest dots on the map can hold a world of stories and a spirit that endures through the generations.
