Hume firework sand will open at 5 PM tonight, it is located on the north side of the Square in Hume Missouri at the Hume fire department come out and support our fire department this Fourth of July season! We are very excited to open this year as this is the third year, we have been able to do this. Come help us bring in funds to upgrade our equipment.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Bates County until 10 PM tonight. Hail to the size of baseballs, wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph, and a few tornadoes are all possible.

Here we go again guys and gals. Level 3 out 5 risk for severe weather this afternoon, evening and night. We do have a little elevated tornado threat, especially on the KS side. Scattered thunderstorms mainly north of I-44 after 2-3pm will start to pop up. But our better chance for severe storms will be mainly after 6pm and lasting deep into the night. Keep you updated.
