Would you like to learn cursive? There are a few spots remaining, so whether you're a total beginner or looking to improve your handwriting, register and join us for this 3 week class on how to write cursive. Each week, we will focus on different letters and techniques to improve your cursive and handwriting overall. Learn this skill to improve handwriting, reading, and spelling. This program is for ages 9 - 17.

We had so much fun for the Adult Coloring Club this week that we decided to do a group selfie! Thank you to everyone that came to color with us and have some wonderful non-adulting time!
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, September 29th at 2 pm in the library conference room. We look forward to seeing you there!

We had such a wonderful time last week for Ease into Art, painting the most adorable gnomes you ever saw! Everyone was so intent painting all the details that we lost track of the time! Thank you to all the amazing artists that came and painted with us! Our next Ease into Art session will be September 18th at 1 pm. Registration is required and for ages 18 & up. We look forward to seeing you there!

We had a great Go Green: Craft session this week making desk organizers out of cereal boxes. As always, everyone created something extraordinary! Thank you to all the talented folks that came and made it a remarkable creative session!
Our next Go Green Craft will be making Picasso inspired faces out of cool shapes cut from recycled card board. It will be for ages 18 & up and registration is required. We look forward to seeing you there!

We’re celebrating A Very Laufey Day on August 23 with something special: a limited-edition Laufey Book Club x HCPL library card!

Ahead of Library Card Sign-Up Month in September, HCPL is joining Laufey and libraries around the world for this year’s “A Celebration of the Arts," an initiative to bring fans together through books, libraries, museums, live performances and indie bookstores.

Here's how you can get your own card:
Registrations will be online and open at 12:00 AM on Sunday, August 23 and will remain open until 11:59 PM that same day, or while supplies last.

Our Laufey Card is:
-FREE for new and existing HCPL cardholders
-Available to Texas residents
-Available for pick up at your selected HCPL location (at specified time)
-Special edition + limited time only!
