🎓 Congratulations to Officer Short and Officer Ogburn! 🎓

Last night, both officers proudly graduated from Oklahoma State University! This is a huge accomplishment that reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to continued growth both personally and professionally.

The Hulbert Police Department is incredibly proud of these two officers for reaching this milestone while continuing to serve our community each and every day. Their determination and work ethic are an example to us all.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Short and Officer Ogburn on this outstanding achievement! 👏💙🖤

Great job, Rider Mommas PTO! Such an amazing event for our community! 👏

The Hulbert Police Department would also like to give a special congratulations to Malaki Bruce for being the top earner during this year’s Jog-A-Thon! 💪🏃‍♂️

Because of his hard work and dedication (raising close to $300) Malaki earned a well-deserved ride to school with Hulbert PD this morning 🚔

We are proud of you, Malaki! Keep up the great work!

Today was one for the books! 📚✨

A big THANK YOU to the Hulbert Community Library for hosting “Storytime for our Superheroes.” The morning was filled with great stories, lots of laughs, and of course—doughnuts and pigs in a blanket for a little small-town “National Pigs in a Blanket Day” humor. 🌭😂

It wouldn’t have been complete without the smiling faces of Hulbert’s tiniest superheroes showing up ready to listen, learn, and enjoy the fun. 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Special thanks to Chief Pritchard for leading storytime and to Officer Short for being his trusty partner in “crime fighting” (and snack sampling).

We appreciate everyone who came out and made it such a great day for our community! 💙

🚔👏 BIG CONGRATS, OFFICER ADAMS👏🚔

After a whole lot of hard work, long days, and serious dedication, Officer Katy Adams is now officially a CLEET Certified Police Officer! 🎉

This is no small accomplishment—CLEET certification takes commitment, discipline, and grit, and Officer Adams showed up for every bit of it. Hulbert is proud to have her serving and protecting our community.

If you see her out and about, be sure to give her a wave (or at least don’t speed past her 😄).

Welcome to the next chapter, Officer Adams—we’re glad you’re here! 💙

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so much fun, we’re already looking forward to the next one!

🚨 Hulbert Police Department 🚨

Today, we partnered with our community to bring an important message to the juniors and seniors at Hulbert High School. As prom approaches, we conducted a mock vehicle accident to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.

This demonstration is meant to be eye-opening and to remind our students that one bad decision can have life-changing consequences. Our goal is to encourage everyone to make safe, responsible choices and to always plan ahead.

A special thank you to Cherokee Nation EMS and the Hulbert Fire Department for assisting us in making this impactful demonstration possible. Your continued support helps us protect and educate our community.

💬 Safety Reminders & Tips:
• Don’t get in a vehicle with someone who is impaired.
• If plans change, call a parent, trusted adult, or use a safe ride option, no questions asked is always better than risking your life.
• Stay together with your friends and look out for one another throughout the night.
• Buckle up—every seat, every time.

💬 Remember: Prom night should be filled with great memories—not preventable tragedies. Please don’t drive impaired.

🚔 Hulbert Police Department – Incident Update 🚔

This afternoon (3/19/2026), Officer Ogburn initiated a traffic stop near 6th Street and Commissioners Lane after observing a vehicle traveling 49 mph in a 30 mph zone. The driver failed to yield and continued southbound, leading officers on a short pursuit approximately 1.2 miles south of Hulbert on S 410 Rd.

With assistance from Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was safely stopped without incident.

During the investigation, controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and paraphernalia were discovered. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.

⚠️ Reminder to the public:
When a law enforcement officer initiates a traffic stop, it is important to safely and promptly comply. In many cases, the stop may be a simple conversation or citation, but failure to stop can lead to more serious consequences.

We appreciate the continued support of our community and our partner agencies in helping keep Hulbert safe.
