What a great day today at Choctaw County EMS celebrating our staff for EMS Week 2026. Thank you to our donors and sponsors for making it a memorable day. A huge thank you goes out to First United Bank of Hugo for grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, and all the trimmings. Thank you to Paris Regional Health for the desserts and Breed Love Wound Care of Oklahoma for the extra goodies. Employees were spoiled a little with all this great food, a very funny Inflatable Kickball Game, $350 EMS Appreciation Bonus, and two lucky winners won an all expense paid trip to EMS World in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations goes to Carola Hutchinson and Dustin Franklin.

Choctaw County EMS Donates 2022 Ambulance to Freedom Volunteer EMS Service

Hugo, Oklahoma — Choctaw County EMS is proud to announce the donation of a 2022 ambulance to Freedom Volunteer EMS Service in support of rural emergency medical services and continued access to quality prehospital care for the citizens of Freedom, Oklahoma and the surrounding communities.

The donated ambulance will help strengthen emergency response capabilities for Freedom Volunteer EMS Service by providing a dependable and modern unit that can immediately be placed into service. Rural EMS agencies across Oklahoma continue to face financial and operational challenges, making partnerships and support between services increasingly important.

“This donation reflects our commitment to supporting fellow EMS providers and ensuring rural communities have access to reliable emergency medical care,” said Dr. Randy L. Springfield-Choctaw County EMS Executive Director. “We understand the challenges volunteer and rural services face every day, and we are honored to assist Freedom Volunteer EMS Service in continuing their mission.” Dr. Springfield went on to say that, “Next week we celebrate National EMS Week and this years theme is, “Improving Outcomes,Together”, and that is exactly what Choctaw County EMS and Freedom Volunteer EMS is doing for our Oklahoma Communities.”

The 2022 ambulance has served Choctaw County EMS well and remains fully capable of supporting frontline emergency operations. By transferring the vehicle to Freedom Volunteer EMS Service, the ambulance will continue serving Oklahomans in need of emergency medical care.

Leadership from Freedom Volunteer EMS Service expressed appreciation for the donation and the partnership demonstrated by Choctaw County EMS.

“This ambulance will make a tremendous difference for our service and the community we serve,” representatives stated. “Support like this helps rural EMS agencies continue answering calls and providing lifesaving care.”

Choctaw County EMS remains committed to collaboration, community service, and strengthening emergency medical response throughout Oklahoma.
