I recently met with Jenkins Township officials and Senator Marty Flynn to discuss the upcoming pavilion project, which will begin soon. Once completed, the new pavilion will provide members of the community with a welcoming space to gather and host events.

I was proud to work alongside Senator Flynn to secure funding for this project, and I look forward to seeing residents enjoy the finished pavilion for years to come!

It was a pleasure to tour Milazzo Industries, Inc. in Pittston and celebrate their continued growth and success, as they have been a part of our community for more than 95 years! From ice melt to dust control products to pool salt, their products are lifesavers for municipalities, retailers, and consumers throughout the area. It was a pleasure to welcome Rotten Tomato Meal Co. to Downtown Pittston and present them with a certificate recognizing the opening of their new business! This locally owned, chef-driven company offers fresh, convenient and affordable restaurant-quality meals for pickup or delivery.

Rotten Tomato is also supporting another business within the 118th District by now carrying sourdough bread from Mike’s Sourdough and Baked Goods! Mike’s bread and baked goods have become a true community favorite throughout the Wyoming Valley, and its continued growth and popularity are certainly something worth celebrating.

There is something truly special about seeing one local business open its doors and use that opportunity to lift up another. Partnerships like this build a greater sense of community and show what can happen when our small businesses support one another. I wish them both continued success!

I had a wonderful time visiting the Pittston City Farmers' Market today! It was great connecting with so many members of our community, speaking with the local vendors and enjoying some live music from local musicians. Farmers markets provide a great opportunity to bring neighbors together while supporting the hardworking farmers, small businesses, and vendors who contribute so much to our community.

The farmers market is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November. I encourage everyone to stop by, explore everything the market has to offer, and show their support for our local vendors!

I was so glad to attend the "Walk Through Glenburn History" lecture and community hike in the township! From voting on the township’s new welcome sign to hearing an engaging presentation from the Daughters of the American Revolution, it was a wonderful first community event.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this past weekend’s community shredding event in Duryea! It was great to see so many residents from the 118th district take advantage of this opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of their sensitive and unneeded documents.

A special thank you to Senator Marty Flynn’s staff, who were a tremendous help throughout the event, as well as the Duryea PD, Duryea Police Neighborhood Crimewatch, Germania Hose Company, Duryea, Pa, and Hughestown Neighborhood Crime Watch for their continued support!
