Wow!

On May 6th, 2023, CPFD Firefighter/ Paramedic Matt Crow was driving home from his son's baseball game. Matt noticed a plume of smoke that he knew from experience and training had to be a structure on fire. Matt drove to the location and noticed a structure which had fire and heavy smoke showing. He also noticed a car in the driveway as he went to the door. After knocking on door of the structure he heard somebody moving around inside. Firefighter/ Paramedic Matt Crow kicked in the door to perform a search and rescue. Matt entered the building full of toxic smoke, oppressive heat, and black out conditions with no protective gear or SCBA. Matt bravely searched the structure and located the victim. Matt extricated the victim and started providing medical care to the patient. The victim is alive because of the heroic actions of Matt Crow. Matt, you are a Rockstar.

First Black Belt Hiring Event of 2023 to be held in Pickens County
West AlabamaWorks! has partnered with the City of Aliceville to host a hiring event next Thursday.

The hiring event will take place January 26th at Aliceville City Hall from 10am to 3pm, located at 419 Memorial Parkway in Aliceville, Alabama 35442.

Industry partners include DCH Health System, ARD Logistics, Drax, Centerline Contracting Inc., Bevill State Community College, Alabama Career Center, Buffalo Rock, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, and other positions on westalabamajobs.com.

These targeted hiring events offer job seekers the opportunity to find out more about local and regional companies while making personal connections with prospective employers.

I encourage everyone seeking any kind of new job opportunity to plant the seed at this career fair in Aliceville,” said Mayor of Aliceville, Terrence Windham. “It is rare that we have this caliber of companies all under one roof in Aliceville! Attendees will be able to learn tips, resume assistance, and skills needed to apply for jobs with confidence. Job seekers are more than welcome to bring copies of their resume, although not required to attend.

We would like to congratulate Craig Bullock on completing Paramedic school and also passing the Nation Registry for Paramedic allowing him to obtain his Alabama State Paramedic License. Craig is currently a Lieutenant assigned to "A" shift. Congratulations Craig!
