Black Hawk Waste will not be out picking up garbage today. Cooleys will be stepping up and doing their best to get through the town. Please have patience and humility during this bumpy transition.

City Hall Software Update & Payment Reminder

City Hall would like to remind residents that our new software system will be rolling out over the next couple of months.

Please note that the City Clerk and Deputy Clerk will be away for training October 19–23. During this time, we ask that you please make your payments online, if you have that capability, or place your payment in the drop box. Payments placed in the box will still be collected and brought into the office daily while we are away.

We are also still awaiting information regarding the next steps for migrating existing accounts and automatic payments to the new system. We will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available. Please note: you may have to setup a whole new account.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition. This will be a complete change in software for City Hall, and we are learning and adapting to the new system just as you are. Please bear with us as we work through the process, and remember to show patience and humility during this time.

As many of you have noticed Black Hawk Waste is picking up garbage manually which makes it harder to complete pick up in one day. If garbage is missed today they will be back out tomorrow to finish pick up. If garbage is not picked up by Monday please call city hall at 319-988-3600 or email [email protected]. Thank you.

Please be advised that City Hall will be closed October 19th through October 23rd for staff software training. Additional closure dates may be scheduled in the future as training on the new software system continues. We appreciate your understanding during this transition and are excited to provide improved services through our new system.

City Hall has been in touch with Black Hawk Waste this morning and have confirmed that they are back out collecting garbage today. If after today you have not been picked-up please email [email protected] and we will do everything we can to get it handled. Thank you again for your patience.

City hall does understand how frustrating the garbage situation is. Unfortunately the city hall page in not a part of the hudson pirate residents facebook group and does not get to see all post and comments which is why we have asked to have people call or email to let us know when garbage gets missed. This way we can get in touch with black hawk waste so they can come back out. We are still actively working through the necessary steps to rectify the situation. We know this is not and will not be a smooth transition.
We Appreciate everyones patience while we work through all of this.
