48 baptisms. 48 stories of lives being changed this past Sunday! We got to celebrate 43 planned baptisms and 5 people who decided in the moment to take that step of faith.

Students. Young adults. Families stepping into the water together. People who have been following Jesus for years and others just beginning their journey. Every number has a name. Every name has a story. And every story is a reminder that God is still changing lives.

What a Sunday. And what a privilege to celebrate together.

The mission of Jesus doesn’t depend on us–it depends on the power of the Holy Spirit working through us.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will come upon his followers and empower them to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. We get to participate in the mission, but the hope of the gospel reaching our friends, families, neighbors, and communities is not found in our own strength. It’s the Spirit of God working through the people of God.

What a powerful Sunday together at Christ Community Chapel!

Pastor Zach reminded us that the story of Jesus didn’t end with his ascension. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus continues his mission through his church, empowering ordinary people to be part of God’s extraordinary work. As we make room for more people to hear the gospel and encounter Jesus, we can live with expectation that God is still at work–and that the best days of the church are ahead of us.

We don’t have to wonder whether God is still moving. He is inviting us to join him in what he’s doing and trust that there is more ahead.
