HELP SHARE THE WARMTH

Donate your gently used blankets and bedding to the needy.

The ACTS Center is in need of gently used blankets and bedding for the needy this winter season. Please tell your friends, neighbors and associates to donate any gently used blankets and bedding to the ACTS center located at 12515 U.S. Hwy 19 Hudson, FL. 34667. Tuesday thru Saturday 8:00am - 2:00pm.

Each fall/winter season we distribute free of charge, hundreds of blankets to those who are in need in our community. We need those in our community to donate any extra bedding items that they will not be using so that it can keep someone warm.

Many of you might remember Patrick and Ann-Marie from South Africa, the missionaries that were here in Florida about three years ago. They are back for a short time and ministering/worshipping in Manasota key just south of Venice. The new TLC Building! This building was transformed from girly to godly. This building is a representation of a vision to transform a dying area in West Pasco to unite Christian businessmen to teach, train, disciple and equip individuals to become free of entitlements.

Free Back-to-School Event and TLC Dedication!

Two exciting events at one time.
Join us Saturday August 16th from 10:00am - 2:00pm at the new TLC building located at 7919 New York Ave. Hudson, FL. 34667 for a free fun day! Not only will we be dedicating the new TLC building for the use of Christ's glory and we will also be handing out backpacks packed school supplies to local area school-aged children. There will be free food (BBQ) ice cold drinks and live music from two of our local favorites, Angela Dittmar from www.angelflowermusic.com and Marty Zollar from www.splittheirears.com . Registration for the backpacks begins August 1st call 727-808-8313. Parent and child must attend for pick up.

We are in need of a few good men....or women.


1) I need someone to teach a life skills class on
disaster preparedness and first aid two separate teachings at the Women's Shelter in Hudson.

2) We also have a homeless lady that is staying at the shelter that needs to get to the Lions club for new glasses in New Port Richey however the Lions club only does this service on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:00 am. Would anyone be available to drive her there?

3) The ACTS Center is in need of someone to take over the bread pick up route at Publix on Hwy 52 and Hays Rd. around 7:00 am.

FAREWELL TO COWBOY MEL!

Cowboy Mel, the name says it all! A calling only God knew that a cowboy could handle.

This is one of the hardest things I had to write. Where do I begin? Today July 1st 2014 "our Mel" turned in his keys to the ACTS center as God is opening a new door in his life. I began to browse through the hundreds of pictures that we have taken since the inception of ACTS and the many outreaches that we have done and I am reminded of the dedication and support that Mel has been for us. He was always there even when we were not and he always encouraged us to take time off even when he was tired. He truly was a silent servant, he didn't need anything in return for his dedication. He was always the first one to arrive in the morning and the last one to leave in the afternoon. He would never leave a lady behind to wait alone for a ride - cowboys just didn't do that. When God called him to the ministry Mel will tell you that he was at a point in his life where he didn't really want to leave the house, we met him in the Hudson Church of God and he was led to ask us if we needed help in the remodeling of the ACTS Center when we first began to lease it. Of course we did not turn down his help, he thought that once it was remodeled that he could go back to his quiet home and do what cowboys do....tend to his animals. Six years have passed since that time with a number of souls that only God has counted that have been touched by his smile, wisdom, counsel and dedication. When people would ask Mel why is he so dedicated he would say "because God called me and until He releases me this is what I am to do". Mel will be missed by all.
