If you have any personal photos taken along the River Crest Elementary School Tree Trek, please share! We'd love to see them!

The Hudson Urban Forestry Board has been updating and creating several great Tree Trek maps in the area. River Crest Elementary is one of the Tree Trek sites. Learn more about the city's Tree Trek sites at: https://hudsonwi.gov/517/Tree-Treks

The Tree Trek sites have maps with reference grids and map key to help students learn map reading skills.

What an awesome display of books about trees!

Hudson Area Library would you be able to set up a display like this?

‘What do you see when you look at a tree?’

There are so many beautiful books about trees and our relationship to trees out right now, that I decided to repurpose our little Christmas Tree in a spring/summer display about trees 🌲 🌳 ❤️

Due to damage from the April 1st snowstorm, Hudson Public Works crews will be removing 65 ash trees. Many have been infected with Emerald Ash Borer, making them more brittle and susceptible to breaking under heavy loads. Here are some pics of crews removing trees on 3rd Street the other day.

Don't get it twisted, trees can be a little ~shady~

When trees provide shade, they're actually cooling cities, buildings, and the planet. In fact, properly placed trees can cool our cities by up to 10 degrees! Other benefits include helping prevent urban heat islands, decreasing energy costs, and removing tons of carbon out of the air 🙌🌳

As an efficient, inexpensive source of carbon capture, trees can be a major part of the solution to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The two creation stories in the Bible paint very different, yet beautiful pictures of how God’s faithful people centuries ago imagined God bringing the natural world into being.
