PROJECT UPDATE 🚧 Construction crews continue to make steady progress on the Boston Mills Road Multi-Use Path and Lake Forest Drive Project. Improvements on Lake Forest Drive are now substantially complete, with only a small area remaining as Windstream/Kinetic completes utility work. Full access to the roadway is currently available.

Beginning next week, June 15, crews will start work on the Boston Mills Road multi-use path and the first boardwalk section. The project’s water crossing is scheduled to take place this fall, with overall project completion anticipated in November 2026.

Residents can follow progress and view project information at the City’s project website: https://www.hudson.oh.us/1494/Boston-Mills-Road-Multi-Use-Path-and-Lak

The Hudson Inclusive Playground at Oak Grove Park has made a lot of progress over the past two weeks! We are getting closer to announcing a grand opening date this summer.

As a safety reminder, please DO NOT enter the construction area. We know that with some of the structures up, it looks fun, but it is not ready for play. Cameras are recording at all times. Thank you for keeping everyone safe!

Regular meeting of Hudson City Council today, Tuesday June 2nd - 7:30 PM at Historic Town Hall in downtown.

See the below link and supporting documents therein for the full agenda.

https://hudson.legistar1.com/hudson/meetings/2026/6/2732_A_City_Council_26-06-02_Council_Meeting_Agenda.pdf

A few highlights on the agenda:

* A proclamation for Hudson Festival Days. Did you know that June is also the month that David Hudson and his small group of pioneers first stepped foot in Hudson (Range 10, Town 4) back in 1799.

* A request to concur with an appointment of an Acting Solicitor (Legal Counsel). While legislation was passed 2 weeks ago to enter into a new contract, it did not carry the emergency language as requested (to take effect immediately), as it did not meet the higher threshold of affirmative votes. Emergency language requires 5/5, 5/6 or 6/7 affirmative votes to include, based on the number of members present and voting. Without emergency language, as appropriate, a measure defaults to a regular measure and has a 30-day delay before taking effect.

* Consent agenda items that cover Velocity Broadband (Fiber to the Residents), Stormwater management projects, an additional grant for the Hines Hill bridge project, Franklin St. Waterline project funding, a grant for Keep America Beautiful, direction to enter into AMP’s smart thermostat program and repealing of passed Ordinance 26-84 (City Solicitor contract) which amends said contract to 6-months and requests the engagement with a professional recruitment firm to perform an additional search for a full-time City Solicitor.

* 2 items on Legislation for a 3rd reading and eligible for action (vote), which include changes to our Ordinance on short-term rentals and an agreement to move forward on the Senior Transportation program

* 2 other items on a 2nd reading and 1 item on a 1st reading.

* There are also 2 Executive sessions, 1 in the beginning to interview candidates for Boards and Commissions and 1 at the end to discuss both Economic Development and Potential Litigation.

Thank you.

The Legacy project (to help celebrate America-250) and to repair and refurbish the downtown Gazebo is nearly complete.

Much work was done to improve stormwater runoff, replace rotted wood, repair / replace the damaged or shifted sandstone steps and concrete surround.

Improved electrical connections, landscaping and ease of access / accessibilty are also in scope for this project.

Enjoy this Amazing weekend and Go Explorers!

Cheers,

-Jeff
