Every year, the Livingston County United Way collects Day of Caring worksite proposals from local residents, seniors, schools, churches, and disabled veterans. These projects often include minor household repairs, cleaning, and yard work that the homeowner is unable to do on their own.
Anyone can recommend a worksite and you are encouraged to apply on behalf of a neighbor or friend who could use a little extra help.
Worksite requests are due June 15, 2026.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the men and women who gave everything for our nation.
Their courage, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.
Today isn’t about celebration—it's about reflection. It’s about honoring the heroes who did not come home, supporting the families who carry their legacy, and ensuring their stories continue to inspire future generations.
As we gather with our communities here in Livingston County, let us each take a moment to honor their memory, speak their names, and recommit ourselves to the values they stood for.
We remember. We honor. We are grateful!

Announcement: LCVS Expanded Transportation Services

We recently received a great question about whether our expanded transportation services apply to spouses of deceased veterans or to family members when the veteran is not riding. The answer is yes.

We proudly provide transportation for:
• Spouses of veterans, including widows of deceased veterans
• Dependent children of veterans

These services are available even when the veteran is not riding. We simply need to verify the veteran’s discharge status with a DD214.

Examples of eligible situations include:
• A spouse or children needing a ride to the grocery store while the veteran is at work
• A one vehicle household where the veteran uses the car for work and the spouse needs transportation to their workplace

All services remain subject to driver availability.

Driver Hours:
Monday through Friday
7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
