Howell Garden Club HGC promotes love of gardening, floral design, civic & environmental responsibility. Org. March 1975.

Howell Garden Club meets 6:30 pm the 4th Wednesday of the month, September through June, at the Marion Township Hall, 2877 West Coon Lake Road, Howell, MI 48843. Our club has monthly presentations from experts in their fields. This year we have programs on:
Desert Terrarium
Conifers
Livingston Land Conservancy
Michigan Road Trip Presentation
Landscaping For Birds
Ikebana

Our June meeting was well attended. Thanks to Marsha and Mary Mc our treats were special! Macey of Huron-Clinton Metro Parks gave a very well prepared presentation on Rain Gardens. I have the perfect spot for one. Now if I can just find the energy to put it together. Maybe HGC needs a project!!! 😃😁

HGC's June meeting is tomorrow, June 24, at the Marion Township Hall on West C**n Lake Road at 6:30pm. Our program will be on Rain Gardens presented by Macey Kunkle of Huron-Clinton Metro Parks, Brighton, Michigan. We will learn how rain gardens work to solve local water problems.

Never give up on your perennial garden. It will do its best to please. Here is early spring 'before' and late spring 'after' at one of our floral circle beds at Summit Gardens cared for by Mary Lou and Rosie. Only a few marigolds added to keep the yellow theme going all summer. Nice job, Girls!!

HGC is getting ready for another exciting gardening year planting and maintaining the circle floral beds found at Summit Gardens on Michigan Avenue, downtown Howell. We had to take a year off because of the major construction project by the Howell Depot and renovation of Summit Gardens. After our meeting with Mike Spitler, Deputy Director DPW Services and Ray Kraft, DPW Operations Manager, we are ready for Summit Gardens 2026!! 🤩
