Bulldog Families,

It's that time of year! We are seeing an increase in illnesses/infections such as strep throat, cold, flu, & gastrointestinal symptoms. Along with these we have had reports of a few cases of COVID, & common childhood viruses such as hand foot & mouth & pinkeye.

Please teach and encourage your child to help prevent spreading illnesses by...
*Frequent handwashing with soap & water, and backup use of hand sanitizer.
*Disinfect frequently used items(backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles.)
*Teach children not to share personal items.
*Keep sick children home until symptoms improve.

As a reminder please read the attached HOWE ISD Health Policies. If you have concerns regarding your students health, please speak to a campus nurse.

📚 SEPTEMBER IS ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH! 📚

At Howe ISD, we believe that every school day matters and every day a student is in class is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and prepare for a successful future.

🎓 SCHOOL ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Regular attendance helps students:
✅ Stay on track academically
✅ Build strong relationships with teachers and classmates
✅ Develop responsibility and positive habits
✅ Keep up with important lessons and activities
✅ Build the foundation for future success

It means more than just funding to our schools. Missing just a few days here and there can add up quickly especially over the years. When students attend school consistently, they have more opportunities to learn today and achieve. Missing parts of days can also create significant gaps over time.

Parents and guardians play an important role in making attendance a priority. We encourage our Howe ISD families to establish routines, plan ahead, communicate with the school when challenges arise, and make every effort to get students to school on time and ready to learn each day.

Together, we can make every day count and continue educating the hope of tomorrow.
