Pennsylvania rail fans are about to get one of those moments people will be talking about for years. Union Pacific’s legendary Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, is set to roll through Altoona and make its way by the famous Horseshoe Curve, bringing together one of America’s most iconic trains with one of Pennsylvania’s most iconic railroad landmarks. Seeing that massive steam engine climb through the Alleghenies near Altoona is about as close as you can get to watching railroad history come alive, complete with smoke, steel, noise, and probably every train lover in the state suddenly pretending they “just happened to be in the area.”

Summer Reading sign ups start tomorrow Saturday, June 13 from 10-11:30.
The first ones to sign up get a free copy of The Great Cookie Kerfuffle. ( Supply is limited.) Everyone who signs up tomorrow gets to pick a prize from the prize bin. Create a Star in the activity area to enter on the leader board. If you don't have a library card, you can sign up to get one. Pick up a log sheet and earn more prizes!

Cookie painting will be set up on the big table! This craft is for children and adults.

Chalk art and bubbles outside on the Hiller Library Pavillion.

Kids Crochet is scheduled for noon.

Summer Storytimes will be on Mondays at 1:00.
We'll have a story, activity, and a snack!
We're starting with The Great Cookie Kerfuffle!
