Join our fundraiser at Book Cycle 6-10pm. We will have the founder of Dreamers Bookstore and the founder of Houston Young Monarchs to talk about books and the HISD state takeover respectively. We will also have an open mic for people to share passages from their favorite books. There will be tamales, elote, frijoles charros, and more. Oh and we’ll be making zines!

The most important thing that Dr. Rev. MLK Jr was working on at the time of his death was the Guaranteed Minimum Income, which I know as the Universal Basic Income. I find it strange that this fact is largely unknown, untaught, and ignored on MLK day parades, where politicians like to throw candy at the people in the streets and use this as an opportunity to ingratiate themselves with the voters.

I hope to carry his torch in this regard, and I hope you will join me.

Cancelled Road diets, destroyed bike lanes, deprioritized the red line light rail so it would have to stop at every red light only to bring back priority, banned scooters in downtown.
