FoodCrews Houston

FoodCrews Houston FoodCrews Houston is dedicated to helping the hungry in our city. FoodCrews Houston is a 501(c)3 tax deductible organization.

My name is LTJG William Ford, USN a graduate of Kings Point, a federal service academy. I’m from a small town in central Pennsylvania of about a hundred people, and am a recent transplant to the beautiful city of Houston. I am an officer in the Naval Reserves and a local Freemason. One thing that struck me hardest when I moved here 3 years ago was that there are homeless on many corners; growing u

p, we did not have the same problem, and I was raised to believe that no one deserved to go hungry. Months ago my fiancé and I, Haley Grimland, decided to do something about it and have began feeding the homeless out of our own pocket; we essentially make pre-packaged meals of approximately 880 calories with water and drive around and give freely these meals to those who can’t provide for themselves. This is enough to sustain them roughly 30 hours.

We would like to thank the members of Temple Masonic lodge AF&AM for their support the last couple of weeks feeding the homeless here in Houston.

Unfortunately, we have been forced to take a sabatical from feeding the homeless here in Houston until we can determine how the new laws that make it "illegal" for people to be homeless in the city will effect those we support (the homeless ).

As of today, we will not be meeting every Saturday morning to feed the homeless as we have the last 2 years. But please continue to follow our page, and we will post updates about how we will continue to serve the homeless within the law.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported us these last couple of years. We couldn't have come this far without you.

If you, live in Houston and , like us, are upset that your city leaders have chosen to "solve" the homeless problem by making it illegal for people to be homeless, please make your opinion know to your city government officials.

Please continue to respect each other and help those who cannot help themselves.

Nothing but love,

FCH

Sons and Daughters of Houston!

If you like helping others, charity, beer and live auctions then what better chance for you to do ALL of those on July 15th at Taps House of Beer on Washington Ave! We'll be auctioning and raffling off a series of donations from local small businesses to raise money for feeding the homeless and hungry of Houston.

Come on out, have a pint, and help make a difference. See you there!
