PRECINCT 5 IN ACTION: Deputies Arrest Man On Felony Child P**n Charges

Constable Terry Allbritton's Strategic Response Unit Deputies assisted Precinct 5's Deputies assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in executing a felony warrant for three charges of Possession of Visual Material Depicting S*xual Assault of a Child.

Deputies opened the case in May, and, during their investigation, they discovered dozens of digital photos and videos depicting child po*******hy in the 49-year-old suspect's possession.

The suspect was taken into custody at his residence in the 7500 block of Forest Dawn Way this morning and transported to jail.

HPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit recently completed an operation focused on protecting children from online exploitation.

12 suspects were arrested and charged with felony offenses related to child po*******hy.

A 46-year-old Houston resident has been sentenced for failure to register as a s*x offender, possession of child po*******hy, s*xual exploitation of children, and coercion and enticement

Great job by FBI - Houston and U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas ! This repeat child predator was sentenced to life in prison!

"Every parent's worst nightmare... a predator willing to destroy children's lives."

That's how one judge described Dustin Gentry, a repeat child abuser now serving life in prison. Gentry targeted victims as young as 11-years-old, and enticed them to create s*xually explicit images of their even younger siblings.

We need to teach teenagers that they can — and should — come to a trusted adult whenever something online feels strange, invasive, threatening, or simply uncomfortable.

A message asking for a photo.
Someone trying to move the conversation to another platform.
An adult saying, “You’re so mature for your age.”
A threat or blackmail attempt.
A suspicious link.

Individually, these situations may seem small, but they can be warning signs of manipulation, exploitation, or online abuse.

And there is one simple but powerful message: Screenshot it. Block them. Tell me.

But for a teenager to actually do that, they need to know one thing: they will not be punished for coming forward.

As adults, our role is not simply to control access to technology. It is to create an environment where young people can recognize risks, set boundaries, and — most importantly — ask for help without fear of judgment or shame.
