Join the Spring ISD Police Department in honouring the fallen as we begin National Police Week.
In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community. #

"Like anyone else, autistic people should be able to shape their own lives — and help to shape our shared future. They bring talents, perspectives and contributions that make the world a better place.
Through equal education, fair employment, and accessible health systems, we can ensure that autistic people have the opportunities they deserve to participate and thrive.
Embracing diversity strengthens us all. Today and every day, let us reaffirm our common humanity and renew our commitment to a more inclusive world for all."

"This week, we recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week—a time to acknowledge a group of professionals who are essential to everything we do, yet often work behind the scenes without the recognition they deserve.

Our telecommunicators are the steady voice in moments of chaos. They are the first point of contact in emergencies, the calm presence guiding callers through some of the worst moments of their lives, and the critical link that ensures officers have the information they need to respond safely and effectively. Every call they take matters—and so does every decision they make in real time.

Their work requires professionalism, composure, and a level of situational awareness that directly impacts outcomes in the field. They carry a tremendous responsibility, often without ever meeting the people they help or the officers they support face-to-face. Yet their impact is felt on every call, every shift, every day.

To our telecommunicators—thank you. Your dedication, resilience, and commitment to this department and our community do not go unnoticed. We are better, safer, and more effective because of you.

Please take a moment this week to personally recognize and thank our communications team. Their work is a vital part of our success, and they deserve our full appreciation."
