Political prisoner Herman Bell will appear before the parole board for the 8th time in February at the age of 70. Please check out this information about how you can write a personal letter of support for Herman that will be given to the parole board to show that he has community support. Herman Bell has been to the New York state parole board 7 times and been denied 7 times. His next parole board appearance will be in February 2018, when he will be 70 years old. The prosecution has dropped or reduced charges for the 7 people set for trial in December but not the brave folks whose trial starts Wednesday or 180 others. Now is the time to redouble our efforts!

The first J20 trial starts November 15! A lot of money is still needed to pay for housing, travel, food, etc. for 194 defendants scheduled for trial. Donate and share with your friends and family, especially the ones that are financially comfortable. As one friend said, we won't be able to do this by just passing around the same $20 bill that we normally do. Time to reach out beyond our usual circles!

Support the 200 people facing multiple felony charges after being mass arrested during protests at the Inauguration. In an astonishing display of legal solidarity many are committed to fighting these charges in court. Help us fund this historic fight!

Louisiana pig openly admits that releasing prisoners means depriving the state of slave labor it depends on. It's questionable whether this is actually based on the immediate economics--it probably costs more to incarcerate a person than it does to pay them $8/hr to wash cars or whatever. But it is certainly based on controlling labor and maintaining relations of white supremacy and the bo***ge and oppression of Black people. F**k the police and fire to the prisons/plantations.

Steve Prattor, the Sheriff of Caddo Parish in Louisiana, is not a fan of his state’s new criminal justice reforms that will free many prisoners convicted of nonviolent offenses earlier than they had been scheduled to be released.

He is currently in isolation, receiving inadequate medical care and is being denied a scheduled family visit.
