If you missed today's HGCAA monthly meeting, you missed a truly remarkable event. We were honored to award scholarships to three deserving graduating seniors whose parents are First Responders. This year, we received 38 submissions, and these three students demonstrated exceptional insight in their essays about the meaning of having a parent who serves as a First Responder. We take great pleasure in recognizing these students and their parents' selfless dedication to serving our communities.

HGCAA presented our annual First Responders Scholarships last week. This scholarship is for graduating Seniors of First Responders. We had 20 applicants this year, so it was a difficult decision because there were some great submissions.

HGCAA is fortunate enough to award 3 students this year. $2,500 scholarship went to Connor Beasley who's father is a Firefighter. $1,500 scholarship went to Joseph Lumpkin whose father is a Police Officer. $1,000 scholarship went to Destiny Fontenot who's father is a Detective.

We wish all the students the best of luck as they start a new chapter in their life and give thanks to all First Responders and the sacrifices made to protect our communities.
