🚨 Tomball ISD Set to Reopen on Tuesday, January 27 🚨

We are happy to share that all Tomball ISD schools and facilities will reopen on Tuesday, January 27, and the District will return to normal operations.

Weather conditions across our area have continued to improve, and after ongoing collaboration with an expert meteorologist and Region 4 District Administrators, we are confident it is safe to resume on-campus learning and activities.

We are aware that morning temperatures will be very cold, and we encourage families to take extra precautions as students return to school. Please be sure children are dressed warmly and prepared for colder conditions while waiting for buses, walking to school, or arriving on campus. While our facilities and schools will be warm and ready to welcome back our students and staff, preparing for the weather will support a safe and comfortable return for everyone.

We also understand that this is a parent’s decision, and families should make the choice that is best for their situation.

Monitoring Weather Update | Jan. 25

We want to share an update regarding school operations for Tuesday as we continue to monitor the evolving winter weather conditions across our area in coordination with an expert meteorologist and all regional school districts.

At this time, Tomball ISD has not yet finalized a decision for Tuesday, January 27. The safety of our students, families, staff, and community remains our top priority, and current weather and road conditions continue to require careful review.

District Administration continues to work closely with an expert meteorologist and will participate in a weather briefing with all area Superintendents mid-day Monday to assess conditions and review the latest forecasts. A decision regarding Tuesday’s operations will be made following that briefing and shared with families and staff as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience as we take the time needed to make the safest and most informed decision. We encourage everyone to remain weather-aware, limit travel when possible, and stay warm.

🚨 | School Closure Announcement!

Tomball ISD will be closed on Monday, January 26 due to expected winter weather moving into our area over the next several days.

District Administration will continue to closely monitor weather conditions throughout the weekend in collaboration with an expert meteorologist and Region 4 school districts through multiple weather briefings. A final decision regarding school operations for Tuesday, January 27 will be made and communicated to families and staff as soon as possible.

We encourage all families and staff to remain safe, limit travel when possible, and take steps to stay warm during this winter weather event. Please continue to monitor District communications for updates.

We are closely monitoring an approaching cold front expected to move into our area this weekend that may bring freezing temperatures and the potential for icy conditions. The safety of our students, staff, and families is always our top priority.

To minimize travel risks and ensure everyone’s safety, the following adjustments are being made:
• All weekend athletic events will be moved to be completed by Friday. Coaches will communicate the details.
• All weekend district (non-athletic) events are postponed.
• The Rodeo Art Show (originally scheduled for Saturday from 9 AM to Noon at the Tomball Event Center) will be rescheduled for 9 AM to Noon on Saturday, February 7 at the Tomball Event Center.

Those participating in weekend events will be notified by their co-curricular sponsor with additional details.

🚨 | Tomball ISD schools and facilities will reopen Thursday, January 23, 2025.

With improvement in the weather forecast and accessible road conditions, Tomball ISD is clear to return to normal operations on Thursday, January 23. Tomball ISD will operate on a normal bell schedule on Thursday.

As you prepare to return to school, please have your children bundle up as it will still be very cold in the morning hours.

🚨 | School Closure Announcement!

Tomball ISD schools and offices will be closed Monday, January 20 for MLK Day and Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22 in anticipation of an unprecedented winter weather event that will severely impact transportation.

All decisions are being made with the safety of our students, staff, and families in mind.

Normal operations are expected to resume on Thursday, January 23. Stay safe & warm.
