Experience the connection between music and visual art at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. On Saturday, Aug. 29, Houston Symphony cellist Louis-Marie Fardet and pianist Olena Blahulyak will perform works by early 20th-century French composers in a program inspired by "Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen."

There’s still time to see the Memorial Park Criterium Series this summer. The final race takes place tomorrow, Aug. 26, bringing cyclists of all levels together for an evening of competition at Memorial Park.

The series has been a Houston cycling tradition since 1989, offering an opportunity for riders and spectators to enjoy the sport in one of the city’s most beloved parks. If you haven’t experienced it yet, tomorrow is your last chance this summer.

One month from today, we’ll celebrate the 2026 Kinder Excellence in Teaching Awards and the outstanding educators making a difference for students across the Houston area.

This year’s honorees represent four school networks: KIPP Texas Public Schools, YES Prep Public Schools, Teach For America Houston in Aldine ISD and Houston Independent School District, and Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston

Since 2001, KETA has recognized innovative, results-oriented teaching and highlighted the important role educators play in their students’ lives and communities. We look forward to celebrating this year’s honorees.

Houston’s parks have been transformed over the past two decades through thoughtful planning, strong partnerships and long-term investment, with more work ahead to ensure every resident has access to high-quality green space.

Earlier this year, Kinder Foundation® Senior Vice President of Parks and Civic Projects Guy Hagstette presented “Making the Case for Houston’s Public Parks” to the Houston Philosophical Society. The presentation highlights the evolution of Houston’s park system, including the role Discovery Green has played in the city’s park renaissance, while looking ahead to the work still needed to expand access to high-quality parks.
