🚲🌍 Did you know? Houston features more than 345 miles of interconnected bikeways and multi-use paths — nearly one-tenth of the city’s total street length!
That includes 160+ miles of continuous bayou greenway trails, connecting neighborhoods, parks, and communities across the city. 🌳☀️
Today is World Bicycle Day — a reminder that cycling brings together health, sustainability, mobility, and community.
So, how many miles of Houston’s trails have you explored? 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️
Ride toward community, culture, and healthy living!

Happy International Children’s Day!
Today, we celebrate the curiosity, creativity, and potential of children everywhere — because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, dream, and thrive. 💡📚
In Germany and around the world, investing in children means investing in our shared future: through education, cultural exchange, inclusion, and opportunities that help young people flourish. 🇩🇪🤝🇺🇸
What inspired you most as a child? 💭✨

Diplomatic highlights of the week:
(1) 🇮🇱 Celebrating the 78th anniversary of the State of Israel under the motto “Strengths of Renewal” at the Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest, led by Consul General Livia Link-Raviv. Consul General Kai Hennig was pleased to attend and welcomed the announcement of a future Texas economic office in Jerusalem — a promising step for stronger partnerships and cooperation.
Wishing continued success and fruitful collaboration ahead!

(2) 🤝 Productive luncheon with Consul General Kai Hennig and Deputy Consul General Markus Hatzelmann together with representatives of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation — Dr. Mark Speich, Dr. Hardy Ostry, and Syreta Haggray.
Thank you for the engaging exchange and for helping bring our partnership to life through dialogue and cooperation. 🇩🇪🌍

🇩🇪 Consul General Kai Hennig was pleased to bestow the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany upon Andreas Bremer in recognition of his outstanding contributions to German-American relations.
The ceremony took place at the German International School of Dallas , founded by Mr. Bremer in 2009 and today a full-day German language school through sixth grade.
For more than eight years, Mr. Bremer has also served as Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dallas, strengthening German-American ties in business, culture, and education.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to fostering transatlantic friendship and cooperation. We look forward to many more years of your valuable support. 🇩🇪🇺🇸

We're back with another look into our diplomatic journey across Route 66 with stops in New Mexico and Arizona! 🌵🏔️

Our itinerary took us from meaningful exchanges with members of the Fraunhofer Institute — one of Europe's leading organizations for applied research — to a meeting with a Bundeswehr exchange officer stationed in Albuquerque, where we explored how our NATO alliance drives collaboration in training for shared equipment. From there, we hit the road toward Arizona, connecting with the science department at Northern Arizona University and taking in the legendary stretches of Route 66 — one of America's most iconic highways and one of its most recognized symbols in Germany.
That connection is no surprise. Germany ranks among the top 10 countries whose citizens visit the United States each year — and the numbers speak for themselves:

📊 ~2 million German tourists visit the U.S. annually
💼 Germany is the 3rd largest contributor to the U.S. travel & tourism industry
💰 German tourists generate roughly $8.4 billion USD each year

From research partnerships to road trips, the ties between our two countries run deep.
