MOTORCYCLE PURSUIT ENDS IN ARREST

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at approximately 4:00 PM, Deputy C. Crider attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation near the Gulf Freeway. The driver, 34-year-old Leocez Dimaculangan of California, initially appeared to comply before fleeing northbound on the service road.

The pursuit continued on to Winkler Drive and into a residential neighborhood, where the driver lost control and crashed into a lawn. He then attempted to evade on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office accepted the felony charge of Evading Arrest/Detention in a Motor Vehicle. Dimaculangan was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. No bond has been set at this time.

🐾DUKE DOES IT AGAIN!🐾

Another shift, another successful find for K9 Duke!

On August 21, 2026, at approximately 01:00 AM, K9 Deputy K. Peters conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of College Ave. on a Honda Civic for multiple violations.

Deputy Peters made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who was identified as 45-year-old Margarita Balli-Olvera. During the stop, K9 Duke was deployed for an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Deputy Peters conducted a probable-cause search of the vehicle and recovered crack co***ne.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and accepted the felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 against Balli-Olvera. Deputy Peters took her into custody and transported her to the Joint Processing Center for booking. No bond has been set at this time.

STREET CRIMES UNIT LOCATES WANTED INDIVIDUAL

On August 17, 2026, deputies with our Street Crimes Unit received information regarding an individual wanted on an active bond-revocation warrant out of the Harris County Sheriff's Office related to an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle case.

Deputies located 30-year-old Isaac Edward Corbett-Medellin and safely took him into custody without incident. Corbett-Medellin was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center.

DEPUTY ARRESTS REPEAT DWI OFFENDER AFTER WITNESSING CRASH

On August 15, at approximately 6:20 PM, Deputy E. Conrad was monitoring traffic in the 14300 block of the East Freeway, where construction had reduced traffic to one lane.

Deputy Conrad observed several motorists using the improved shoulder to pass other vehicles. When the lead vehicle stopped on the shoulder, it was struck from behind by a black Ford Expedition. The Expedition then drove over the curb and entered the service road.

Deputy Conrad caught up to the Expedition and conducted a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as 40-year-old Gilberto Cantu, Deputy Conrad observed multiple signs of intoxication. After completing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, it was determined that Cantu was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle. A search of the Expedition also revealed multiple open containers of alcoholic beverages.

A criminal-history check showed that Cantu had a prior DWI conviction. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Driving While Intoxicated—Second Offense.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the other vehicle involved in the initial collision. Cantu was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center for booking. Bond was set at $100.

Construction zones require every driver’s full attention and patience. Never use the shoulder to bypass traffic and never drive while impaired. A few moments of impatience can have life-changing consequences.
