ChildBuilders is excited for Tamra Wilkerson and Nicolas Romero to join our Board of Directors! Tamra transitioned from the Junior League of Houston OBR to full board membership as of June 1st. Nicolas joined us from Marsh Professional Services on May 19th and is serving as Treasurer-Elect. He will be mentored by our longtime Treasurer, Liz Palmer, as he prepares to step into this important role. 🌟

🍎 Healthy Habits Start at Home 🏡

In the final week of National Wellness Month this August, remember that wellness doesn't have to be complicated. It's built one small habit at a time. By caring for your own well-being and creating healthy routines at home, you're helping children build the resilience and emotional wellness they'll carry for a lifetime.

💚 This week, try to:
🌻 Eat one healthy meal together as a family without distractions.
🌻 Spend 15 minutes on a calming activity like coloring, stretching, or reading.

Children learn more from what we do than what we say. One of the greatest gifts we can give them is showing that self-care and healthy routines are important! 🧘‍♀️

As we wrap up our series before the Season 3 launch of Building Pathways to Healthy Minds, we’re revisiting an important conversation with Dr. Ann Friedman. In her episode, she explores mindfulness and emotional regulation. Mindfulness isn’t about stopping our thoughts. It’s about learning to notice them without immediately reacting.
