The Australian Canoe Slalom team has arrived in Oklahoma City, and they've come in force 🇦🇺🛶

As the world's best paddlers descend on OKC for the 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships this month, Australia will be well represented, including by Olympic gold medallists Jess and Noémie Fox. This world-class whitewater course isn't just the stage for the World Championships, it will also host canoe slalom at the LA 2028 Olympic Games!

But the team's time in Oklahoma City has been about more than getting ready for competition. They also visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, a moving experience that showed them how this city and state faced profound tragedy and responded with extraordinary resilience, unity and community spirit. It's a story that resonated deeply with the athletes and helped forge a genuine connection with the place where they’ll compete.

The team also had the chance to experience the FIFA World Cup up close, cheering on the CommBank Socceroos against Egypt in Dallas, another unforgettable moment of inspiration ahead of the World Championships.

Thanks to Global Oklahoma for helping welcome the Aussies.

With the World Championships now and the Olympics on the horizon, this is the beginning of a special few years between Australia and the Sooner State. We can't wait to see what our athletes do on the water. 🇦🇺💚💛

Aussie Soccer-Baseball crossover!!⚾🇦🇺⚽️

The night before the Socceroos' Round of 32 clash with Egypt in Dallas, Aussie fans headed out to watch the Texas Rangers take on the Detroit Tigers, because when in Texas, you catch a ballgame, right?

By the end of the night, the Aussies had found their new hero: Ezequiel Durán, who was adopted as the Aussie fan favourite!

Word travelled fast and the CommBank Socceroos couldn't let it slide. To welcome Ezequiel to the Aussie sporting family, the team sent over an official Round of 32 match pendant and a signed Socceroos jersey!
