A bowing line of thunderstorms moved through the Houston region early on Wednesday, but we think this is our final serious disturbance for awhile. Roads should be fine for the morning commute. Our weather turns warmer, and sunnier to start the weekend.

HCESD 6 was honored to participate in the 2nd Annual Trauma Survivors Celebration yesterday at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake. We are incredibly grateful for our strong partnership with HCA Southeast and HCA Clear Lake as we continue working together to serve our communities and support patients through every stage of care.

A special congratulations to Paramedic Davis and Paramedic Sears for being recognized during the event for their outstanding dedication and care. 👏

Today our crews had the opportunity to meet with Stryker for a great Q&A session focused on EMS innovation and future improvements! Our team was able to provide real world feedback, share ideas, and discuss ways to continue improving the tools we use to serve our community every day.

Dr. Patrick is an emergency medicine physician and active-duty Air Force officer with prior service in the United States Marine Corps. A graduate of Brooke Army Medical Center’s emergency medicine residency, he is currently part of the University of Texas San Antonio EMS Fellowship Program in partnership with the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD), where his work focuses on prehospital care, military medicine, and emergency systems development.

As part of HCESD 6’s ongoing partnership with the University of Texas San Antonio EMS Fellowship Program, Dr. Patrick will be embedded with our district throughout May, working alongside our teams to gain firsthand experience in the operations of a small-government emergency services district. During his time with us, he will be reviewing ESD operations, learning how community-based emergency response systems function, and contributing his operational and clinical perspective to support regional EMS and emergency response initiatives.
