Curated by tattoo artist Julian Solis, this exhibition showcases works by Houston tattoo artists across oil, graphite, ink, and other media, inviting viewers to consider tattooing and the artists behind it through the lens of fine art. Traditional flash paintings appear alongside oil portraits and other works, revealing the relationship between each artist’s personal creative practice and art made for clients. Presented in a traditional gallery setting, the exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the skill, vision, and artistic expression of tattoo artists, demonstrating how their creativity extends far beyond the skin.

On view at Sabine Street Studios, East Corridor Gallery, through September 12.

HEART OF HOUSTON is a juried exhibition at Winter Street Studios featuring works in all media by more than 60 artists from across the Greater Houston Area. Organized by Winter Street artist Marie Casamayor-Harvey and juried by Tanja Peterson of Redbud Gallery, the exhibition explores Houston as place, memory, community, landscape, and idea. Through painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installation, artists reflect on the neighborhoods, traditions, experiences, resilience, and continual transformation that shape the city, creating a collective portrait of Houston through the perspectives of those who call it home.

On view through October 31. Join the artists for a reception on Thursday, September 10 from 5-8pm.

Featured artwork: Lucy Caire, Deep in the HeART of Houston

Multiplicity 2026 grew from an advanced ceramics class taught by Jeff Forster, where 16 students explored the transformative power of repetition to create sculptures and installations using multiples. Through modularity and accumulation, pattern becomes structure, small objects gain scale, and repetition strengthens artistic intention. While each artist brings a distinct aesthetic, the works share themes of the human condition and our connection to the world. Visitors will encounter figurative, nature-based, and abstract works that celebrate the handmade, from precise surfaces reminiscent of stitching and knitting to textures that preserve the fingerprints of the making process.

On view at The Silos at Sawyer Yards Bay 100 Gallery through September 11.

FLUX SHOW 2026 examines the gap between contemporary artistic practice and traditional art education. Building on decades of experimentation with technology, media, and society, the exhibition introduces high school artists to creative languages often absent from conventional classrooms, including projection, moving image, sound, interaction, installation, spatial practice, and digital media. Rather than presenting these approaches as new or revolutionary, FLUX SHOW 2026 recognizes them as fundamental forms of contemporary culture and invites art education to evolve alongside the artistic world in which today’s students already live.

On view at SITE Gallery at The Silos at Sawyer Yards through August 23. Open daily 3-8pm.
