The Harris County District Clerk's Office (HCDCO) just concluded another Internship Training Program, which ran from May 18th until today!
Throughout the last two weeks, a group of talented law students from the University of Houston Law Center and the South Texas College of Law had the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about the courts and the daily responsibilities within the DCO. They observed various areas of our office, including Civil, Family, Criminal, Juvenile and IV-D Courts, as well as various other support sections.
We held an Intern Appreciation Breakfast this morning where the interns had the chance to share their experiences with us and we could bid them farewell. We wish them all the luck and success in their future careers and hope to see them around the courthouse complex in the future!
Anthony Leatherman, Team Leader of HR Specialists and the Administrator of the Summer Law Intern program stated, “I believe that all of our law interns were extremely appreciative of the new knowledge that they gained from observing each one of our court sections. Now that we are at the end of the rotation, I think that most of the interns have some idea of what kind of law that they want to practice. My goal each and every year, with this internship, is to provide the tools that these students need to become the best Attorney that they can be. My educational background in law and government prepared me for the awesome training that I extend to these quality students that I select.”
A very special thanks to Anthony for organizing this wonderful opportunity. We’re proud to support the next generation of legal professionals and can’t wait to see all they accomplish!
