The philosophy and approach of the SBFDC is to meet core community needs through collaboration. The SBFDC recruits best practices from around Houston to provide services at our site; we currently have 9 on-site partners, many more episodic partners, and serve ~16,000 people/year. We serve as a connector between the community and the organizations that serve it. We encourage partnering organization
s to work together to holistically meet needs, enabling each one to have a greater impact than they would on their own, while offering quality, comprehensive services to our clients. The scope of our services stem from a community needs assessment that defined our four primary areas of service: education, recreation, health and social services.
