They listened to speakers like Julian Castro and Michael Bloomberg, as well as many other politicians and activists! Thank you to for providing our young democrats with this amazing opportunity. In the light of what happened yesterday at Bellaire High School, Texas High School Democrats gives its condolences to Bellaire High School students, our Bellaire High School Democrats, Bellaire administration and teachers, and Cesar Cortes and his family. This is the prime example of why we need to reform gun legislation on a national level. It is incredibly disheartening to hear that yesterday’s atrocity was our call to action. For those in the Houston area, make it your mission to attend tonight’s vigil. Comment down below your opinions on gun control and how we should take more action today.

Andrew Maglich, a former TXHSD Austin Regional Director (2018-2019), is running for the Leander ISD Board of Trustees.
It is incredibly rewarding to see former TXHSD members take initiative in their local communities, run for office, and advocate for change. TXHSD wishes him the best of luck on the campaign trail!! Thank you Andrew for working to fulfill our TXHSD mission of empowering and encouraging young adults to take on an active role within their community and make their voices heard.

Pranav Konduri is currently a junior at St. John’s School in Houston, Texas. This is Pranav’s second year as a member of the Executive Board. Last year, he served as the Houston Regional Director. As Chair, Pranav facilitates the daily activities of the Executive Board, while also bridging the gap between National High School Democrats of America and the Texas High School Democrats. He works to represent TXHSD at numerous political events and meetings. Pranav is most excited about the Chapter Expansion and Retention initiative and he can’t wait to have a fun and productive year!!

Jack, Nathan, Baxter, Caleb, Mckayla, Shelbi, Ally, Rachel, and Anna are members of the HS Democrats Club in the Clear Creek ISD. Not only did they come to tonight's town hall but they have been phone banking and volunteering for us. Grateful for their work!
