The Consulate General of India, Houston, in collaboration with the Indian Doctors Association of Houston, successfully hosted an insightful discussion on "Yoga for Healthy Ageing" in celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2026.
In his opening remarks, Consul General Shri D. C. Manjunath highlighted yoga as one of India's enduring gifts to the world, emphasizing its transformative role in promoting preventive healthcare, mental well-being, and healthy ageing. He underscored that yoga transcends age, culture, and borders, serving as a powerful tool for fostering holistic wellness and a healthier society.
Heartfelt appreciation to our esteemed panelists — Dr. Niral Patel, Dr. Deena Gandhi, Dr. Paresh Patel, Dr. Anitha Abraham, and Dr. Randeep Suneja — for sharing their valuable medical perspectives, and to Dr. Suparna Chhibber for expertly moderating the engaging discussion.
A special thanks to Dr. Anitha Vasisht for leading a refreshing and accessible Chair Yoga session following the panel discussion, demonstrating how yoga can be seamlessly integrated into daily life to support healthy ageing and overall well-being.
As we continue the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga 2026, we warmly invite everyone to join the flagship community Yoga event at Midtown Park, Houston, on 20 June at 6:00 PM.
Come together with family and friends to experience the many benefits of yoga and be part of this collective celebration of health, harmony, and well-being.
