⚠️ Extreme Heat Alert: Stay Safe This Weekend ☀️

Dangerously hot conditions are expected through Sunday, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s and the heat making it feel as hot as 105°–110°. These conditions can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke, especially for children, older adults, first responders, outdoor workers, and anyone spending extended periods outside.

To protect yourself and others:

🫗 Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

🧴 Apply sunscreen and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing to help reduce the effects of prolonged sun exposure.

⛱ Take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas to allow your body time to cool down.

Pay attention to signs of heat illness, including dizziness, headaches, nausea, excessive sweating, or confusion. If you or someone else begins experiencing severe symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference in staying safe during periods of extreme heat. Check on family members, neighbors, and pets, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

🚒 Fire Safety Starts With You
“Preparation today can save a life tomorrow. Test your smoke alarms monthly, replace batteries regularly, and always have an escape plan.”

🔥 Know Two Ways Out
“In an emergency, every second counts. Make sure every room in your home has at least two ways to escape and practice your family’s evacuation plan.”

🏠 Protect What Matters Most
“Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a house fire nearly in half. A few minutes of prevention can protect a lifetime of memories.”

⚡ Electrical Safety Matters
“Never overload outlets or power strips. Small precautions can prevent devastating fires.”

🍳 Stay Alert While Cooking
“Cooking is the leading cause of home fires. If you’re cooking, stay in the kitchen and keep anything flammable away from the stove.”

👨‍🚒 Firefighters Are Prepared—You Should Be Too
“Firefighters train every day for emergencies. Take time to prepare your family by creating and practicing a home fire escape plan.”

🚨 Seconds Save Lives
“If a fire starts, get out, stay out, and call 911. Never go back inside a burning building for belongings.”

❤️ Community Safety Is a Shared Responsibility
“A safer community begins with informed neighbors. Check on elderly family members and help ensure their homes are fire-safe.”

🔥 Prevention Is Powerful
“The best fire to fight is the one that never starts. Stay vigilant, stay prepared, and stay safe.”

🚒 A Firefighter’s Reminder
“We can’t always prevent emergencies, but we can prepare for them. Have a plan, know your exits, and never underestimate the importance of fire safety.”

Quote from your local volunteer fire department:

“Firefighters stand ready to answer the call, but true safety begins at home. Prepare, prevent, and protect—because the life you save may be your own.” 🚒❤️🔥
