Happy holidays to all of our supporters! Although our posts have slowed down our outreach has not. We are still collecting and delivering for the many families that we have adopted and grown close to as well as new referrals that we continue to get. I want to send a special shout out to our Seattle family and NSBE luv that we have received. Families wish list items have been continuously pouring in from across the country... literally. This last month we have provided clothing for 7 children and furnished 3 nurseries.
Generous donations enabled 5 turkeys and groceries for thanksgiving dinner to be given out to our families with kitchens. We ended our meal delivery program, not because the food donations ran out or our amazing cook gave up, but because all of the families needing it no longer do! 🎉
It is such a blessing to be a blessing. The recovery and transition to a new "normal" is still underway. We will be publishing our updated list soon. ❤️

It has been such a blessing to be a blessing. The community is still pulling together and making sure people have more than just a house but all the things that make it a home. Much love to all the drivers and movers that worked so hard to get November move ins complete. ❤️Thank you to everyone who donated and made the couches and flatware purchases possible.

2 months later and we have success stories to share!! Meet Mrs. Lynda K. She has an amazing story of survival. Swept out of her house by rising waters, rescued from clinging to a tree and flown in an army plane to the hospital her smile shows that nothing can kill this ladies joy. The young lady standing next to her reached out to our group to join in the efforts of helping her start anew.
She moved into her new apartment last week and we were able to attend the housewarming with almost everything she needed. On behalf of Lynda K and family we thank you for all of the continued support and donations! The journey to rebuild has only just begun. ❤️

Happy November!! Cle2HouLove is still going strong. We get new family referrals weekly and we are dropping off donations at a new home just as often. This has been a very rewarding experience and it's been amazing to see all the support that we get. We have been able to facilitate 6 homes being furnished and not just with the staples; couch, bed, table; but even art and decor. We are still looking for kitchen items, linens and towels. Thank you to whomever left the household items at the gate! Much love to all of our sponsors and donors! ❤️❤️

Hello!! We are overdue on updating our family in love. Out of the 15 families we have been supporting (and several more on an as need basis) only two have been able to get relief money from Red Cross. All the others were denied and are appealing. Everyone denied has lost everything and got no explanation. Perhaps the budget is just too tight 😐. The deaf family we posted about earlier got denied by FEMA via email and they have struggled to get anyone on the TDD line to give them answers. They didn't have flood insurance and the one story house was under water. There were a few families that have flood insurance and they are just waiting on insurance to pay out. A couple have made the decision to rent a new place and walk away from the home they've known as they can't continue to pay both and hotel reimbursements are done. All that to say... yes the need is still real and present 2 months later and the support has been coming from hometown heroes and supporters like yourselves.
Good news is we have been able to transition our support to helping families move forward. Household items and furniture have been donated for 3 households so far and 2 more in the upcoming week. Moving into an empty house with that garbage bag you were able to salvage is humbling. We are so grateful to everyone that's been able to help us give hot meals and items that make a house a home. You can't imagine the relief it brings ❤️

Moving day!! This picture means a lot. This is a new beginning and the beginning of a burden relieved. The second family got keys to a new place!!Opening the door to an empty place is bittersweet. Bitter because it's totally empty... a reminder of all that's lost, sweet because the hotel is behind them. We were able to donate most of the basics; beds, couch, table, linens etc. We were able to help them get started on the road to recovery and help shine a light towards thriving. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Keep the prayers, positive energy, donations etc. going for the other 12 families in hotels, RV's and tents. 2 families moved on.. just a few more to go. ❤️

Great news! Two of the families adopted by Cle2HouLove have found a place to live. They will be leaving the hotels next week to finally be in a home. This is major! Many have asked why we are still working so hard to help people. I think there is a misconception that somehow after losing everything you get it all back together in a couple of months (it's been a little over 1 month). Many say things like isn't there a program or voucher? Why don't they go get their own supplies from the donation center?
We understand that it's hard to imagine what people are dealing with unless you see it first hand. THIS morning there is a line wrapped around the building to speak to Red Cross for food assistance. This line is formed at a Greenspoint mall (affectionately nicknamed Gunspoint) where they moved many of the shelter inhabitants to an abandoned Macy's. In the city the shelter is shut down, the highways have opened back up and many streets have picked up the first round of debris.
FEMA hotel vouchers are expiring and Red Cross has denied all but one of our families the emergency cash voucher. Transportation is a struggle in Houston without a car so picking up their own supplies isn't happening. Red Cross just released the emergency food stamps that people are in line for. People are still struggling to figure out how to keep living. Should they stay in the unsafe home they own or walk away and spend the money on a rental. Stay in the tent/RV or head to the shelter? So because the need is still there we are still delivering food, clothes, water, cleaning supplies and anything else our donations allow us to do.
Meet this lovely couple. They are cleaning their home out still by themselves. Today we bring them food and supplies because they don't have a kitchen and the stress of throwing away 50yrs of things is physically and emotionally exhausting on a fixed income.
Thank you to all that have joined us and continue to push us forward. ❤️

This house had water up to the window tops. The clean up and repair is underway thanks to this great group of volunteers. They drove their church van all the way from California to donate their time and skill to rebuild. We don't drywall but we were able to deliver meals to keep them fueled.
We have been partnering with Karen Popich who has generously been buying, cooking and packing 50+ meals ( I've seen over 100) based off need every single day from her kitchen! These are hot complete meals. There are still so many families with no kitchen, relief funds, homes and now spending their money on a hotel, that benefit from her generosity. If anyone wants to sponsor a meal or earmark any of their donations for the meal program let us know!

Meet Suzette! Her and her family have been staying with different friends and family as they await the word from insurance. The water in her house just subsided enough to go in and begin cleaning last week. She is not alone in that their are many homes where clean up is just beginning. The 30 days of support have ended and getting resources at this stage is a struggle. Luckily Cle2Hou Love has backing and generous donations that are still coming! ❤️
