Earlier this week, the HCFMO Total Wellness Team continued to advocate for Mental Health Awareness Month by hosting a wellness event for fellow staff members and public servants.

The event gave us an opportunity to pause, recharge, and plant seeds that symbolize growth and well-being.

A strong team starts with strong people. đź«‚ Thank you to the HCFMO Total Wellness Team for your continued commitment to supporting the health and wellness of our workforce.

HCFMO would like to show our appreciation to our response partner, Union Pacific Rail, for their contributions to Haz Mat education, including the donated rail car used for hands-on training.

Cris Burch, a proud representative of UP, served as the instructor during yesterday’s technician-level rail safety training.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to advancing Haz Mat education and training. Your partnership strengthens the safety, knowledge, and preparedness of those who protect our community.

With hurricane season less than 10 days away, here is important CO safety information for you and your loved ones.

Carbon monoxide is one of the most preventable causes of casualties during and after a hurricane, & it’s one most people don’t see coming.
Know what CO is. Know the signs. Know what to do. Your life and your family’s life may depend on it. 🛡️

Today, we mourn the loss of retired HCFMO K9 Delta.

For nine years, Delta faithfully served the citizens of Harris County alongside his handler and partner, Sergeant Eddy Tessier, responding to fire scenes, assisting investigations, training, or participating in community outreach.

To many, he was more than a working dog. He was a partner, a protector, and a constant presence beside those he served with every day. His impact extended far beyond deployments and statistics; it was found in the connection he brought to the community.

Retirement gave Delta the opportunity to rest after a remarkable career, and today we honor both his service and the bond he shared with Sgt. Tessier.

Thank you, Delta, for your loyalty, dedication, and years of faithful service. Your watch has ended, but your legacy within HCFMO will not be forgotten.

Please keep Sergeant Tessier, Delta’s family, friends, and the entire HCFMO family in your thoughts.
