Here we go with the PISD Board elections. The four incumbents are being challenged by a coalition of Hispanic community activists. This should be fun. Noting that the PISD candidates are actually campaigning putting up signs even in the South Belt Area - they must be nervous.

I personally would like to see a board whose members align with President Trump and the new Education Secretary plans.

As I always believe with this group - vote them out (if only for the reason of term limits, they have been there waaaaay tooooo looooong.)

The South Belt Republicans will not be meeting this evening due to many of our members in general election training. The November meeting will be at Kim Hai in November and December we will have a joint Christmas party with the San Jacinto Republican Women.

The South Belt Republicans meeting for September will be moved to September 19th and we will do a joint meeting with the San Jacinto Republican Women. Steve WIlliams will be the guest speaker. The location is at Las Haciendas, 12933 Gulf Freeway. 6pm social and 6:30pm meeting. Dinner is $20 which includes meal, drink, tax and gratuity. Due to the FOx and Hound closure we will resume our normal meeting in October at a TBD location.
